Research and technology development is headed by Nick Ryman-Tubb who is
a world class leader in state of the art neural symbolic approaches to
knowledge acquisition and machine learning.
Nick has developed practical solutions for businesses using neural
computers for 20-years. He founded and was CEO of the UK firm that
now protects 1–in–7 of the world?s mobile telephone subscribers from
fraud using neural computers (www.neuralt.com). He developed
anti-fraud systems for loan and credit card applications, city dealing
and anti-money laundering. The impact of fraud is
substantial – with the proceeds paying for organised crime, drug
smuggling and terrorism and through these systems a substantial impact
has been made in reducing crime. He is a well-known innovator, with
successes such as the first neural computer to 'taste champagne' and
'sniff out explosives and drugs'. Today, Helping businesses like
Retail Decisions (www.redplc.com), a card issuer and a world leader in card fraud prevention and payment processing, preventing around £600m in attempted fraudulent purchases for clients every year. Nick is also a Research Fellow at City University London researching state of the art neural-symbolic approaches at the Department of Computing (www.soi.city.ac.uk/neural).
